Starting a floral business is exhilarating …and overwhelming.

Here’s the dream: the creativity, the beauty, the freedom of building something that's yours. And then there's the reality: Where do I begin? What skills do I actually need? How do I know if I'm doing this right?

That's where Root & Bloom comes in.

This is a three-day, hands-on floral intensive workshop built to give you the design foundation your future business will be built on.

You'll spend three days with your hands in beautiful local blooms and seasonal flowers sourced directly from nearby farmers and wholesalers, not practicing on Pinterest, not watching someone else design on a screen, but learning the craft the way it's meant to be learned: in person, with real flowers, in real time.

Because the group stays small, you won't get lost in the back of a classroom. You'll get one-on-one feedback on your designs as you build them. The kind of real-time adjustments that save you years of trial and error once you're working with paying clients.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO:

Learn the full process of how to set up for a real wedding from design, consultation, and installation!

You’ll get your hands dirty designing across the full range of skills you’ll need as a working florist.

From corsages and boutonnieres, bridal bouquets, centerpieces, and floral installations. You'll learn how to process flowers properly, source your product, and apply color theory in a way that finally clicks. Whether you're dreaming of weddings, events, or everyday arrangements, you'll leave with the foundational skills every floral designer needs — and the confidence that comes from actually doing the work, not just reading about it.

I’m Amber Mustain

I’m a texture-loving, gardening novice, mom of two with over 25 years of floral industry experience (please don’t do the math!).

Throughout my career, I have done everything from washing buckets, delivering arrangements, working for a large event company, owning a retail shop, and leading a boutique floral studio that specializes in weddings and events.

You see, floral artistry is very much a part of me (and always will be). However, it took me struggling to balance owning my retail shop with being a new mom to realize that freedom was not just a luxury but a necessity. Ever since I had my daughter 21 years ago, I have been on a mission to carve out a space in the industry that not only felt true to me and my creative expression, but also allowed me to spend quality time with my husband and kids when it mattered most. All of which led me to my greatest purpose of teaching other aspiring women how to run a floral design business that operated just the same - on their terms.

I believe in creating the floral business that is right for you and the things you hold closest to your heart. This in-person workshop allows you to grow your floral design skills and build a community to support you as you build a business.

My work has been featured in Flutter Magazine, The Knot, Rocky Mountain Bride, and more. I have helped florists of all backgrounds and experience levels transform their design skills and build industry-defining businesses, and I want to do the same for you!

I would love to have you for this special 3-day immersive workshop.
